Is it possible to target traffic from social media?

Yes, it is.

You can target traffic from social media in the targeting conditions setting screen. There are two targeting methods.

  • Use “Traffic from social media” from “Traffic source type”

  • Set a parameter in the traffic source feed and specify the parameter in “Source parameters”

You can use this method for a simplified version of targeting traffic from social media. Items treated as social media here are Google Analytics domain classifications, specifically, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Ameba, etc.

In some cases, transitions are redirected from social media, and it may not be possible to obtain the URL itself. Use a parameter with a specified referrer URL when you want to specify a certain feed.

Use this when you want to target by limiting traffic from a specific feed. Add parameters such as utm_source=xxx and utm_medium=yyy to the transition URL in the feed and specify the parameter in source parameters.
