Is it possible to set and measure multiple conversion types individually such as for purchases and membership registration?

Yes. If you want to measure conversions as different types such as purchases and membership registrations, you can tally the conversions individually. Create separate conversions you want to measure individually in the Admin Screen and embed measurement tags in pages where conversions are complete in order to tally individual conversions on the report.
